The short version

This website is purely informational. We use Google Analytics only with your consent — without it, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google. We serve no advertising and share no data for marketing purposes. All fonts are hosted locally; without your consent, visiting this site loads no third-party content.

Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted on a server operated by IONOS SE (Montabaur, Germany). When pages are requested, the server automatically processes technical access data (server log files), in particular IP address, date and time of access, requested file, browser type and operating system. This data is used to ensure reliable operation and the security of our systems, and is deleted after a short period.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing the website securely). Where required, a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the hosting provider.

Language cookie

This website stores your language choice (German or English) in a cookie named “beroea_lang”. The cookie contains only the language code, is not used for tracking and is not shared with third parties.

It is a strictly necessary cookie within the meaning of § 25 (2) no. 2 of the German TDDDG, so no consent is required. The legal basis for the associated processing is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. You can delete the cookie at any time via your browser settings.

Web analytics with Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies (including “_ga” and “_ga_*”) that allow a pseudonymous analysis of how you use this website. The measurement ID is G-DPG39VJMG6. The information collected includes, among other things, the pages you visit, your approximate location, the device you use and how long you stay; your IP address is processed in anonymised form by Google Analytics 4 by default.

The legal basis is solely your consent under Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR in conjunction with § 25 (1) of the German TDDDG. We load Google Analytics only after you click “Accept” in the cookie banner — before that, no script is loaded from Google, no cookies are set and no data is transmitted to Google.

A transfer to the United States to Google LLC cannot be ruled out. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the transfer is additionally based on the EU Commission's adequacy decision and, supplementarily, on standard contractual clauses.

You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future: via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer, followed by “Decline”. We then disable Google Analytics and delete the associated cookies on your next page load. For more information on Google's data processing, see policies.google.com/privacy.

Contacting us

If you contact us by email, we process the information you provide (email address, content of the message) in order to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to entering into a contract, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The data is deleted once it is no longer required to handle your enquiry, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

This website contains links to external platforms (e.g. GitHub, LinkedIn). When you click them you leave our website and the privacy policy of the respective provider applies. Simply visiting our pages transfers no data to these platforms.

With regard to your personal data you have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) and objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority about our processing of your personal data (Art. 77 GDPR).

For security reasons this website uses TLS encryption (recognisable by “https://” in your browser's address bar). Data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
